This EZX simply bursts loud, reverberant rock from the onset and out. ‘The Amber Kit,’ which represents a reproduction of the acrylic kit that John Bonham used during the now-historic “The Song Remains the Same” recordings in 1976, has a truly unique, open-sounding and blaring tone. To contrast, ‘The Sparkle Kit,’ also a homage to a setup frequently used by Bonham in several classic sessions, presents a more traditional tonal palette while still offering that mandatory, deafening rock sound. In other words, two perfect kits for classic rock – engineered to perfection by the man who helped shape its very essence.
Remnant is a digital grain delay effect designed for dense, experimental soundscapes and sharp, stuttering glitches. Remnant fills an analogue tape-inspired delay line with its input signal while two independent grain engines, operating in parallel, draw fragments of sound from the delay line. The two engines feedback both into themselves and into each other, creating concentrated and constantly varying patterns in time and in space. Remnant also features a fully vector, resizable interface that pushes the boundaries of traditional audio plugin design. What really sets Remnant apart, however, is the reactive freeze feature. When enabled, Remnant will freeze the signal in its delay line and infinitely draw and emit grains from that sound. While doing so, Remnant waits for your input signal to exceed the envelope threshold. As long as the input signal exceeds the threshold, Remnant will temporarily unlock the delay line, allowing new signal to enter and introduce new character to the output grain stream.
Clonemeld is a creative delay sampler that embellishes your audio with phrase manipulation in subtle or extreme ways. Inspired by the Montreal Assembly Count to Five pedal, Clonemeld samples incoming signals and rephrases, delays, reverses and pitch shifts the recorded material. It is a great way to get new ideas flowing, add extreme time-based effects or augment existing phrases with subtle nuances. Solveig is a reverse engineered early ’80s analog synth modeled after the classic Roland SH-101 and MC-202 sound engines. It is further augmented with a “complex”, Buchla inspired oscillator. In the mid-to-late ’80s, death metal was a peripheral genre of underground bands. Then, by the early 1990s, acts like Death, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse and a handful other US bands predominantly from the Florida and East Coast areas started gaining traction. At the same time on the opposite continent in the UK, the likes of Carcass, Benediction and Napalm Death advanced with their own breed of death. On the other shore of the North Sea, in Scandinavia, bands such as Entombed, Therion and At the Gates all added their own blend to the mix. By then, the rest of the world had caught on and death metal as a phenomenon was a fact. Ever since, trends in heavy music have come and gone, but death metal has stayed its course and stood its ground. Arguably no genre has evolved in a more organic way, with a constantly rejuvenating fanbase and steady increment of bands. Today, although fragmented and more of an umbrella to a host of sub-genres, death metal has never been more alive.
