Unique 3-channel sample player & sound design tool from Si Begg, based entirely on modular sources EXTREME MODULAR ENVIRONMENTS is an amazing and unique sound design tool that allows you to quickly and easily create dense and complex ambiences based on modular sources, ranging from musical pads through to extreme sounds to give you almost limitless sound design capabilities. Many of the sounds are from the creator Si Begg’s personal library of sounds and have been used in trailers, scores, and other compositions. The sounds used were intended for use in a wide variety of projects, but broadly speaking they are particularly suited to cinematic or experimental music where you need something atmospheric, rich and with a contemporary feel. At its heart, EXTREME MODULAR ENVIRONMENTS is a 3-channel sample player, with each playing a sound and with its own set of dedicated effects. For each channel you can control the pitch, Sample Start point, amplitude / filter envelopes, saturation and reverb send. All three channels are then mixed together and put through master high pass and low pass filters, then finally a limiter.

MANDOLIN TEXTURES is a Kontakt instrument created using the sound of an acoustic mandolin. On some patches the sound is heavily manipulated, giving birth to unexpected sonic creations. Mandolin Textures – Unexpected Sonic Creations for Kontakt This instrument does not represent a sampled mandolin with all articulations. This is an inspiring tool which is based on a mandolin source, and is highly inspiring and musical. The first two patches are standard muted mandolin sounds, which we like a lot and find highly flexible and natural. The Muted Mandolin patch is sampled in 4 velocity layers and 3 round robins. Other patches are various textures, pads and ambient sounds. Mandolin is sampled with a Royer SF 12 stereo microphone in combination with an original Neve 1073 stereo pair of preamps OR occasionally Millenia HV-3C.

Vir2 multi-sampled all singers performing vowels Ah’s, Oh’s, Oo’s, and Hums. Composers will easily be able to create lush vocal performances for their projects with different articulations including non-vibrato, vibrato, and true legato. In order to give users a fresh take on vocal performances, Vir2 collaborated with industry-leading professional sound designers to create a diverse collection of vocal pads using Aeris’ choir and solo singer sample content.
