670 Mojo 192 Khz for Nebula

    Team MAGNETRiXX | 06 February 2014 | 1.23 GB

Sampled with ‘Prismsound Orpheus’ precision you will not be disappointed. Provided in 192 khz, 96 khz and 44.1 khz. 40 presets. Library size is 1.3 GB. 10 distortion kernels. Please note that these require a fully licensed Nebula Pro license to enjoy. This is an independent mono sampling of the famous compressor ubiquitous on so many 60s and later albums. 14 transformers and 20 tubes make this a beast of a compressor. It is almost impossible to buy nowadays – unless you have a cool $ 50 000 lying around. Stories abound of old studios literally dumping them in skips when solid state became popular. Many replicas exist but this is a sampling of the real deal. Mostly very subtle samplings of one of the few remaining original and well maintained versions of this piece of audio recording history. Own it now and possess that sound in the box. N.B – I have not sampled this as a compressor but a PRE for it’s sonic signature.

It is is designed to work with plugin emulations such as T-racks Vintage compressor or UA offering and is made to be placed before it in your chain. Tested and confirmed to work brilliantly with the Vintage 670 Compressor in conjunction with Metaplugin for stereo operation .

All the time constants were sampled with only about 2 dbs gain reduction. The deep, deeper and deepest presets were done using constant 1 if my memory serves me right. I went for about 5 dbs gain reduction for deeper and finally about 10 dbs on deepest. The ‘Low Drive’ preset was with a much higher input to really drive the valves- bit of a gem that one – may be the best if you want a more coloured sound with full lows and stunning high end.

So what I do is open up DDMF Metaplugin and route the left output to an instance of Nebula. I opened up another instance of Nebula and routed the right input to that one. They then are routed to the main Metaplugin ouput. You can use the mono instances quite happily with just Nebula of course but using Metaplugin you can rebuild the hardware. With two separate mono instances you can level match independantly within Metaplugin. You can also do this in Reaper easily.

( WHAT IS A MOJO SET? A common complaint facing Nebula users is the GUI and the workflow which may require a number of steps that an algorithmic plugin simply avoids. For example, to get more than one band of equalisation in most cases you need multiple instances of the plugin and the bands don’t always interact like the hardware would. But the sound is stellar. You also have a limited level of dynamic levels with eqs in a lot of cases.
