This collection of unique performances also includes an incredibly rare Faulkner Dulcichord table-top piano and a newly designed Granular Synthesis engine. The solo strings in this library focus on long and short textures that can be combined to create tension and movement. The articulations are expanded with the brand-new Granular Engine, creating a huge array of possibilities and blurring the lines between acoustic and electronic performance. As with Zen: Meditations, this library also contains Layer Blends but this time, the team at Fracture Sounds and Alexander Parsons have assembled 28 synth sounds that can then be combined in thousands of combinations with the use of additional effects. Trails is built to enable maximum sonic exploration with minimal effort, so you can focus on writing music with an inspiring set of sounds.

An upright piano with stories to tell. Alt Piano is an old, humble and character-filled upright piano from the 1960s. Recorded with and without felt, this piano has two very different personalities; soft and beautiful or bright and lively. The original recordings have also been transformed into a series of inspiring textural layers. These can be used to create a subtle background ambience to the piano, or made into their own atmospheric organic sounds. There are dozens of other unique controls, making this piano impressively versatile and allowing you to easily create an extensive range of sounds for any genre.
String Formations is a collection of long string textures and gestural effects that can extend the capabilities of traditional string libraries and inject a sense of nuance and humanity into your compositions. Comprising a small chamber ensemble made up of three violins, violas, and celli, this dynamic grouping is ideal for scoring at a smaller scale, or doubling and combining with a larger ensemble instrument to add movement to more traditionally static string libraries. Recorded in the large hall of The Nave, Studio 1, String Formations offers three mic perspectives that can help blend with other instruments. The close mic offers a great dry sound, whilst the middle conductor perspective and the far mics give a greater sense of the hall. The library extends the innovative programming we introduced with Smart Trills in Petrichor with our Chordal Textures patch. When smart mode is enabled within these articulations, playing chords will automatically trigger specific interval relationships, weaving a tapestry of texture within your composition. We have also provided 16 Atmospheric Layers created by processing the original raw samples. These can be used in conjunction with the main set of articulations, or in our Layer Blends engine to stretch the sonic capabilities of the library.
Elektronik 25 captures the rare, historic sounds of the unique Elektronika EM-25. This synthesizer was manufactured somewhere in the Soviet Union and has since become a bit of a collector’s item. The EM-25 is a polyphonic synthesizer with a strong focus on strings, organ and brass. It has a 4-octave keyboard, as well has a variety of knobs to control the envelope, modulation and filter. Elektronik 25 features sustains, staccatos and a collection of FX pad sounds. We recorded the instrument articulations in wide stereo and direct line in. After that, we crafted over forty evolving atmospheric pads from the source content to enhance usability. Elektronik 25 offers a rare glimpse at sought-after Soviet-era synthesizers and the rich strings sounds can enhance any composition.
Our experience with sampled celestas, is that they sound flat and glocky. What if two celestas plays in perfect unison? The interface is simple to look at, easy to play, and with advanced options available behind every control. The concert hall (Fartein Valen) has stunning and intimate warm acoustics. Celesta is a classical keyboard instrument, known for its bell-like sound. When two celestas are played together, the resulting timbre and overtones gets more lively and enchanting. With multiple mic positions allowing you to easily incorporate it into your mixes. Stavanger Symphony Orchestra generously borrowed us two celestas. A new and an older model. A pianist was set to play them simultaneous in unison. Reaching one hand on each instrument. You really don’t hear that there are two celestas sounding, but the resonance sound fuller and more varied, vibrant and enchanting. Recorded in one of Europes finest sounding halls, Fartein Valen.

All recordings were made in a very tight room, using the same setup used to record the strings in our popular Unstrung library. The performance of each articulation is very aggressive, played with tension and horror cues in mind and leaving the beautiful imperfections in place to give you a very realistic and raw sound. To add extra grit, we multi sample an extra 3 octave layer of noisy, screechy, beautifully hideous notes for each of the 3 articulations: Spiccatissimo, Spiccato, Staccato. Each of the other articulations can also choose to overly any of these extra aggression layers to give them harder attacks and unique sound combinations.
