NDK ( formrely known as ns_kit7 )is a multi-gigabyte single-strike drum and cymbal sample library with highly extensive velocity layering and articulation options, allowing for the ultimate in realism and performance. What other software is needed to use NDK? We recommend using NDK in conjunction with Native Instruments’ Kontakt 2 or Steinberg’s HALion 3 soft-sampler. Extensive presets for both formats are included, allowing users to take advantage of such features as random-robin triggering, on the fly stick and snare-wire changes, direct-from-disk streaming, multiple outputs, individual drum/cymbal panning & velocity, the ability to mix-and-match your own kits and loads more. Doru Malaia may have lost his battle with cancer but he won the hearts of all those who love high quality samples. I must say these are some of the most professional, well edited samples I have ever heard. This man put in a lot of work for us before his passing and I consider him one of the kings of samples. Welcome to my big course on drums, from sound design, over composition & texturing to mixing, this is my grand tour of different production techniques you can use to create better drum loops. We’ll be synthesizing kicks in the grid, talking about the theory and fundamental characteristics of snare drums, synthesizing them in phase 4 and then layering & processing them, we’ll be writing with hihat samples, synthesizing our own hihats with convolution and unison in the grid & then using modulators to humanize them, we’ll be recording our own percussions with household objects, synthesizing unique percussion loops and then sequencing them using the multi-sampling capabilities of sampler & audio editing and lastly we’ll write a proper drumloop, use bitwigs group clips system to efficiently write variations and fills, add risers and sfx to our drums and mixing them to make them sound great together.

This machine along with Bruce and Benny’s personal attention to detail made musical history for such artists as Def Leppard, Chicago, Rod Stewart, and Madonna. Further ground-breaking advancements in sampler technology came from Forat in 1987, the Forat F-16 was introduced to the musical world. The first 16 bit digital sampler tailored towards drums with Midi capabilities, dynamic response to incoming signals and to this day still the fastest audio-triggering digital sampler on the market. This machine was instrumental in the rising popularity of such producers as Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, L.A. and Babyface.
