This ReFill is your best friend when you´re looking for inspiring new sounds with a character and a bite – it sounds cool, adventurous, nostalgically warm and noisy at the same time! To catch this character some amazing sources were sampled: RozzBox One v2, QuadraSID, the old grey Gameboy from 1989 with ‘Nanoloop 1‘ and ‘LittlesoundDJ‘, the Gameboy Advance SP from 2003 with ‘Nanoloop 2‘ and the Nintendo DS Lite from 2006 with ‘DS Electroplankton SaveFrom.net‘ and ‘Korg DS-10‘. Thor and the RPG-8 have had great influence during the upgrading process of the original bitBUMPER. Lots of patches go through Thor´s fine stereo filter 3 section and 30 inspiring “live looping” combinator patches making use of the rex files and the RPG-8 were added.

This ReFill comes packed with all the sounds you need to build Reggaeton beats from the ground up, or to simply add a touch of that Latin-Jamaican flavor to your Reason tracks. The Customized Combinator patches will be your short cut to great sounds, rhythms and melody lines that are tailor made for this specific sound. The Reggaeton ReFill was put together by the Salazar Brothers, an award winning production crew with a long history of Hip Hop production. Apart from being respected beatmakers and award winning producers, the three Chilean brothers Salla, Masse and Chepe also run The Redline, one of Stockholm’s finest Urban / Latin Clubs.

A LEGEND ON ITS OWN: The coming of Thor has been an enormous breakthrough for Reason’s sonic capabilities. It has been a great challenge for us at Sonic Flavours to come with this refill so shortly after Reason 4 had been released. Thor is practically capable of doing everything and even much more. It’s possible to emulate vintage keyboards (clavinets, organs etc.) at an extreme high level of realism. Besides this Thor can also sound as big and beautiful as its legendary predecessors do coming from brands like Moog, Oberheim, ARP, Yamaha, Roland, Nord Lead, Virus, PPG etc. Thor is already a legend on its own and we captured these legendary qualities into this refill.
Mix Convert plug-in, which is a newly included plug-in that can convert incoming audio in one speaker format to outgoing audio in a different format: you could use this as an insert on a stereo channel to downmix to mono, for example. Nuendo automatically uses the Mix Convert plug-in in situations where you have a 5.1 channel routed to a stereo output: double-clicking the panner automatically opens a Mix Convert plug-in editor — you don’t see it instantiated as an insert on the Mixer. Mix Convert offers quite a number of controls, such as the ability to adjust the phase of individual speaker channels (except the front centre channel, of course!), adjust the incoming gain and the level of the surrounds, centre channel and LFE that goes into the downmix.
