This is the much anticipated continuation of New York Studios Legacy series, focusing on capturing the best studios in the New York area. Recorded in the renowned Avatar Studios and featuring several vintage and custom kits, this session is best described as a prequel to the much praised core library in Toontrack’s award-winning Superior Drummer, also recorded in Avatar studios and by the same team, engineer duo Neil Dorfsman and Pat Thrall together with drummer Nir Z.

Contains most of the expansion packs available with a few others thrown in from other sources such as Platinum Samples e.c.t Is numbered , in an orderded fashion so that you can just drag & Drop the whole midi file into your root folder on superior drummer. Any you don’t want, just sift through and disregard what you don’t need. Remember the numbering of files may change the appearance of your browser in Superior Drummer unless you just drag the whole midi folder in and add on any extra bits you need. May be of use to someone.
Although the origin of the term “jazz” is still up for debate, the leading candidate for its source is “jasm,” a word dating back to 1860 that relates to spirit, energy and vigor. Whether this is the true origin or not, those descriptive words are hallmarks that go together with jazz just as much today as they have through its entire history. The heritage of jazz and its impact on music as we know it is monumental. Arguably, no style of music has managed to seep through cultural tiers, outlive fads and trends or historically been more seminal in spawning great instrumentalists such as jazz has. Quite simply, it’s in our DNA and is the common thread in the fabric of our musical history.
