The CIN-A is an acoustic piano, in case it’s two, but made into one. The power and exactness from a large German Grand Piano, blended with the warmth and intimacy of an upright piano. The samples have been processed using some cool vintage outboard and even resampled using a ¼ inch analog tape machine. To add extra warmth and glue everything together. The result: A instrument that sounds like no other piano you’ve heard, that delivers a sound that we hope will inspire you as soon as you get it under your fingertips. Not much to tell, really. Control the particle effect further by adjusting speed and dynamic range. Recorded with 5 round robins, it also includes the flageolet technique to create a Harmonic layer. The Natural and Harmonic layers can be balanced to your preference, adjusting between a natural pluck and one with more shimmer. The 10 presets included are crafted to take full advantage of both the natural harp tones and the full ethereal pad effect of the Glow slider. The Celtic harp is much smaller and more compact than a classical harp like HA•PI. Because of its size, it’s more commonly used in folk and traditional music, as well as in taverns and at Elven festivities.

Code Red is inspired by two versions of the classic, all tube, British console form the 1960s most closely associated with the sound of The Beatles. Preamps featured in two versions of the original console are accurately simulated using models based on the full circuit simulation. Console’s original, “Pop” and “Classic”, EQs had fixed characteristic frequencies and Qs. To make the plug-in more versatile, we made the EQ fully adjustable. While we were at it we added two more mid bands and a high pass filter for added functionality. Fear not, the original EQs are still available, as presets.

This patch bank includes 40 premium presets, 56 custom wavetables and 18 analog and 28 field recording noise samples for Xfer Records Serum. All patches are built on these wavetables / noises and have an assigned mod wheel along with four useful macros. The sounds of DESERT were inspired by modern cinema and scoring – Especially the latest films by Christopher Nolan and Denis Villeneuve. Therefore, these Serum presets also reflect the themes of those movies: Science fiction, A.I., Cyberpunk, dystopia, technological progress and manipulation of time. As suggested above this patch bank is made for creating innovative cinematic soundtracks but as with all my packs this one is also very flexible stylistically and can be used for various genres like Electronica & IDM, Cyberpunk & Synthwave, EDM, Trap, Drum & Bass and more. Apart from modern soundtracks the sound/genre of Cyberpunk also has been very influential in the creation of this pack. Included in this preset collection are impactful and heavily textured bass and leads, deep cinematic pads, lush plucks and keys and other thrilling synths. Overall, you’ll find a lot of intriguing textures and organic timbres in this patch bank that make Serum sound more alive and analogue.
