Aquarius Earth, a new Expansions series pack that captures the sound of the late-90s soul movement. The pack includes 57 Battery kits and 50 Maschine kits featuring live bass, synth, and drum samples, captured using classic outboard gear, with modern production polish. Aquarius Earth captures the sound of the late ‘90s and early 2000s, when artists like the Soulquarians and Lauryn Hill began to condense the cumulative energies of funk, hip-hop, jazz, and soul into a distinctive new sound. Modern production and sampling techniques met vintage analog warmth to create a musical movement as predicated on heavy beats as it was drenched in soul. Aquarius Earth takes up the palette of earthy tones, funk groove, hip-hop percussion and infectious melody that brought the soul back to the ‘90s and beyond. Aquarius Earth contains original recordings of kits, bass, and vintage synths, using classic outboard studio gear as well as vintage console emulations – available as one shots, loops, and samples to use in any DAW, as well as in Maschine as Sample Instruments. Extensive Battery and Maschine kits are perfect for building up the movement’s popping rhythms, melodic patterns, or for developing and experimenting with smooth vocal cuts. Presets for Monark inspired by analog synths let producers tweak the era’s vintage sound toward their own production style.

The Purgatory Creek Soundware Pianet T is an excellent recreation of this popular keyboard. It was deeply sampled at eight velocity levels recorded for the full duration. Manufactured between 1977 and 1982, the Pianet T was popular as a light-weight alternative to larger, heavier electro-mechanical pianos. While its sound is not as tonally expressive as other instruments, it does possess a unique, intimate sound. Pianet T was deeply sampled at eight velocity levels recorded for the full duration, so you will hear neither loops nor artificial envelope decays. Nearly every note of the instrument was recorded and note-off release samples are included. The instrument uses 28MB of RAM and requires 210MB of free disk space. You will find a three-band equalizer, volume for the release samples and a velocity curve dialog box which allows the user to adjust the instrument to respond to touch. In addition, each has controls for the tremolo, phaser and reverb effects. Finally, a number of amp simulations are provided.
