We put ourselves in the position of the artist and this gave a 180° turn to our position to compose the melodies and choose the exact tools for .WAVES. We felt we needed to use all of Pigments potential. In order to do so, we collaborated with a brilliant vocalist who’s most known as Swa Swally. You would ask ‘‘Why are these presets Shamanic? Am I going to accidentally open a portal inside my studio?’’ Don’t worry, you won’t turn your studio into a spiritual highway that connects to the spirit world… But if you’ve ever seen Swa Swally perform, no explanation would be needed about the ‘‘Shamanic’’ aspect of these sounds. Swa takes the vocal performance to a mystic level and we worked hard to capture that into an incredible preset bank. We are more than proud to present this bank which we humbly think is a unique take on Pigments granular potential. Although most of the presets use Swa Swally’s voice, we added some FX, atmospheres and instruments in the lot to make sure you get all tools needed to inject a unique flavor in your music.

Part of the proceeds of this work support my chosen charity,the Mumvuri Project. This is an orphanage that I am the patron of in my native Zimbabwe in Africa and this website is an integral part of my fundraising for them. This sampling is part of the Microphone Locker Series. These presets need to be combined with my various preamps to really shine. They sound harsh on their own as I used very transparent tools to sample them, but plug them ‘virtually’ into one of my preamps to get them to sound right. A bright mic needs a soft preamp like the E-M-EYE and a smoother mic like the ribbons I offer need perhaps the brighter pres like the TCS ( API ). Up to you to experiment but that is why having the full array of my preamps can turn this collection into a powerful sound sculpting arsenal.
