    Video MP4 | 38 Tutorials (2hr 16min)

Expert drum instructor Luke Oswald is back with the final advanced Superior Drummer 2 video tutorial series! In this collection, Luke covers creative SD2 workflow techniques and more, rounding off the entire series. Luke starts the series with an in-depth look at the Mapping Window. He teaches you the art of articulation mapping and how to remap articulations so you can trigger specific articulations with your electronic drums, MIDI controller, or MIDI Grooves. Next, Luke explains how use the Velocity Curve to adjust how SD2 handles incoming MIDI. He follows that up with a demonstration of how to use the Velocity Gradient Strip to audition a range of sample velocities.

Moving on, Luke gives you some practical applications for articulation mapping and velocity adjustments. He shows you how to create realistic drum rolls and cymbal swells, then how to use the Velocity Gate to filter out unwanted samples.

After that, you’ll learn now to create MIDI Nodes, and how to use them to layer multiple sample articulations. That leads into lessons on how to use SD2 to layer drums by joining discrete articulations, and how to bypass Velocity Curve adjustments. Once you understand how to use MIDI Nodes, Luke shows you how to save and load MIDI Node and Velocity Curve presets.

Luke now focuses on the Bounce Window, in which you can record and bounce the audio of your performances. He shows you how you can create single and multiple files, bounce through the mixer and create files for individual channels, and covers all of the Bounce settings and options.

Finally, Luke explores the special Combined Presets feature of SD2. You’ll learn how Combined Presets can completely change the sound of your loaded drums, and he demonstrates how to use the mixer settings within a Combined Preset from another library to create brand new sounds.

If you’ve started Luke’s Superior Drummer 2 Advanced series, don’t miss “Superior Drummer 2 Advanced Vol 2”!
