Brood is a dual-voice orchestral ROMpler for Kontakt 5.7+. Brood, offers you an unsettled, dark, awkward, disturbed landscape of sound. The audio was specially designed for Brood and its DOSA architecture: strange, random, unbalanced audio fragments permeate the sound stage, dark and foreboding, brooding soundscapes that never repeat exactly are Brood’s speciality. Brood features a dual layer architecture (so you can mix two different voices together), drift(variable tuning) controls, creative filters and modulation controls along with a unique gate sequencer for each voice and 4 sends for each voice. Brood includes our innovative scene controls allowing you to define 3 scenes (A, B & C), each containing volume, pan and pitch settings, and then morph between them. Brood is the fourth product using our DOSA (Dynamic Oscillator Sequencing Architecture) Engine. DOSA is a completely new and unique approach to audio playback, it provides endless audio that subtly changes over time, adding realism, movement and interest to each voice.

Each instrument is fully playable, with sustains, staccatos, true legato, dynamic expressions and effects tailored to its specific characteristics. Ancient Greek Winds is the perfect melodic complement to our Ancient Greek Strings and Ancient Greek Percussion libraries. Each instrument was hand-crafted using period-accurate methods, building materials, and tools by the Athens-based historical research group LyrΑvlos, led by Panagiotis Stefos. Fashioned from wood, reeds, conch shells, and bronze, these musical treasures faithfully explore the distant musical past and would be right at home in the hands of bronze age musicians over 2,500 years ago.

8-bit is the new cool! Weirdly, that seems to be as true today as it was back in 1984 when Korg launched their first digital drum machine, the SuperDrums DDM-110. Complete with 8-bit PCM samples, accent control, a sophisticated yet easy-to-use programming interface, and a DIN sync socket (no MIDI yet…), it was in many ways ahead of its time. The sound is far from naturalistic, but it’s got that typical 8-bit crunch and power to it that really sets a mix pumping, with the kick and snare sitting very well in all kinds of electro / house styles. The hats also tick over very nicely, with a bit of a fizz to the high-end courtesy of those crusty D-to-A converters. We’ve interpolated a medium Tom to go with the high and low ones, so you can do proper 80s-style drum solos! The key to the SuperDrums sound is the meatiness of its kit pieces. A bit of research reveals a frequency response that tops out around 7.5kHz, giving everything a super-compressed and surprisingly warm attitude with a great deal of weight. This is an ideal soundset for holding down more pumping, hi-energy styles. If you want laid-back, take a look at WurliBeat, because this certainly ain’t it!
