Scoring Piano is a Steinway Model B piano, sampled in a great studio near Florence, Tuscany. This instrument will find a perfect spot for any kind of soundtrack and, like My Piano, for jazz and classical music. We have tried to take the softest dynamics particularly into account. Moreover, thanks to our Dynamic Range Control, it is very easy to achieve that “Thomas Newman” cinematic sound. In addition to this, Scoring Piano features a great dynamic range, enabling you to play any kind of music genres. Our new instrument features lots of sound crafting controls, EQ, Reverb, three mixable mic positions and controls for pedal resonances and noises. We have avoided to include fancy effects, like delay, compressor and so on. Not only the quality of these effects in Kontakt is up to debate but also we have simply aimed at a great natural sounding piano.
The Tom Superball is a creative sound-design library, part of a series of extended percussion sample libraries. It consists of a beautifully sampled tom-tom played with a superball mallet (also known as the resonant mallet). A highlight of this library is the “Cassette” feature, which enables the samples played through the vintage analogue Grundig Cassette Deck, adding a lot of depth and harmonics to the sound. In their absence, we often feel something missing, though we cannot always put our finger on what. We’ve been recording orchestras, ensembles and solo performers regularly for nearly 2 decades, slowly building a deep and authentic collection of concert hall roomtones, all manner of audience applauses, murmurs and reactions, pit orchestra and ensemble tuning cacophonies, warm-ups, incidental sound effects, from great to small. These elements can be used for sound design in any style of music, video games, movies, VR, television and apps, or to simulate the environment of a live performance whenever you need it. The possibilities are endless.
Since the samplers has been become more advanced and the Rain Piano still are one of our most popular pianos, we decided to bring it up to date and add some functions in the line of the original ideas. So, we got the original master recordings out, (and they where in 24 bits), made some refinements to them and built the instrument from scratch. We also added hammerback and pedalnoise samples and release samples. Then we added our True Resonance feature and used Kontakts scripting facilities to make Real Time/True Pedaling, Sympathetic Resonance and some other nifty features, and, Voila: The Rain Piano MkII!

Vintage Strings is a virtual instrument for Kontakt 5 designed to emulate the classic violin string section sounds of R&B, Soul, and Funk records from the 1960’s and 1970’s. Whether you’re an experienced arranger or casual producer, Vintage Strings was designed to make it quick and easy for you to create great sounding string tracks for your productions. Like its sister product, Vintage Horns, Vintage Strings was not designed to be a shiny, perfect sounding virtual instrument. Instead, we tried to capture the way string sections sounded back in the ’60s and ’70s; including the decidedly not classical playing style and minor imperfections that added character to those sections and made them sound so good. For Vintage Strings we recorded a 6 piece violin section using vintage Neuman U-87 mics and Royer ribbon mics run through a great sounding SSL board. To capture a true vintage string sound, we used close mics, room mics, and string section positioning based on actual session notes from old Motown and Philly Soul recording sessions. Rather than record the violins in a magnificent concert hall or some other large and resonant recording space, we recorded our players in a funky old studio with a smaller, less-reverberant room that had characteristics similar to the rooms used to record classic Soul and R&B records.
