If a MIDI library deals with the topic “strumming”, the result can often be very artificial and hideous, even with many popular and well-known libraries. It was our challenge that we develop a strumming library that should sound realistic and is very diverse in its area of application for all music genres. That’s why we took our beloved Collings Mandolin in hand to get that great mandolin sound. We decided to record on a stereo setup with two “Schoeps CMC 5” microphones in XY microphone position with 2 Neve 1073 mic-pres. Then we played chord by chord, countless chords… We cleverly scripted the samples into a small masterpiece in which we can now realistically represent a MANDOLIN in strumming mode.

FELT 54 is an intimate felt piano with character, it’s not the conventional bright and harmonically complex upright piano. Stereo sampled from a felt customized upright Yamaha U3 1975 that has been modified in a way that makes the tone more pure, yet preserves its harmonic richness. A 0.8mm felt strip was added between the hammers and strings, and the middle section’s tone of the piano was simplified by muting 2 out of 3 strings per note. FELT 54 is ideal for Ambient music and Melancholic film scores, as well as LO-FI hip-hop music with the Tape settings driven up.

Post-Apocalyptic Guitar is a sample library dedicated to the rhythmic timbre and textures of post-rock bands like Mogwai, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, Cul De Sac and others. The library contains two core type of phrase-based patches divided into a Yin and Yang category. The Yin category is softer, lighter, more airy and heavenly – whereas the Yang category is harder, darker, more distorted and punchy.
