Handpan, is a magical journey in D-minor and Chromatic scales. This specific Handpan is made out of thickened nitrided steel, which gives it a softer moody and cinematic sound. It resonates in a way that can be used for rhythmic play, but also has a tail that is perfect for meditative and slow performances. It has a sound that captivates the soul. Also known as Hang or Pan Drum, the Handpan has an enchanting sound that transports you to a realm of serenity and inspiration. With a 22 inch/56 cm diameter and hand-hammered tuned, this handpan is recorded with high resolution 192kHz stereo and the aim was to capture sound of the Handpan the way you would hear it when playing it on your lap. Now available in your DAW. Handpan brings you a mesmerizing sound both in D-minor and extended chromatic scale. Pro’s of D-minor presets – the instrument’s resonances are the most natural and whole in the pan’s body. If it was tuned, then the small resonances between notes would misalign. So this is more natural and it is easy to get the hang of playing this way of playing. Pro’s of the chromatic presets – allows you to extend the instrument to any scale you wish.
The Duduk, made out of aged apricot wood, is an historic Armenian traditional woodwind instrument. It has now been made famous as it was featured in the Dune movies scored by Hans Zimmer. The sound of it is meditative and haunting, sounding similar to an oboe and saxophone. The reed of the Duduk is hand made from reed cane and requires preparation with water to make it come alive again by producing sound. The Duduk tells an ancient story reaching back possibly 1500 years. To this day you can hear the ancestors’ cries and teachings through it. This Kontakt instrument is mostly 192kHz, 32 bit, 2.82GB featuring main and also experimental articulations that are expanded in extended chromatic scales. The uniqueness comes from the way the Duduk was recorded and further explored in the snapshots.

The history of the oud extends back to antiquity, having been referenced in writings over 1,000 years old. It is a fretless, stringed instrument that has been used in both Middle Eastern and European music for many centuries, and is now played all over the world. The instrument we sampled is a custom-made, double soundboard Turkish oud by Faruk Türünz. The instrument was performed by Stelios Varveris and recorded with pristine Neumann & AKG mics through an SSL console in a treated studio room. Our goal in creating this library was to produce an incredibly intuitive instrument that simply sounds great out of the box. The powerful script engine seamlessly voices notes and chords – no complex keyswitches required. Advanced users can delve into the gorgeous, inspiring user interface for custom mix controls like microphone blend, EQ, compression, and reverb, and microtuning presets can be used to achieve incredibly authentic performances. Created for both musical use and sound design, Violence features an unprecedented deconstruction of a solo violin recorded from numerous angles: bowed, scraped, hit, plucked, played with mallets, chopsticks, guitar picks, and wet fingers. Then the sound design was repitched, layered, and post-processed through an array of unusual tools to produce sounds unlike any found in other virtual instruments. More than eighty unique patches were designed, each with a custom set of scripted knobs and controls all conveniently organized into four categories of sounds: Drum Kits, Melodic, Pads and Sound Effects, and Tempo-Synced. The inspiration for Violence came from the influential American composer John Cage, whose extensive experiments with prepared piano yielded new timbres and effects. What Cage did on the piano, Violence brings to the violin: a new and unorthodox approach to a traditional instrument, yielding amazing and fresh new instruments, textures, and sound design elements. Violence combines physical alterations with digital manipulations for a sound that straddles acoustic and electronic realms.
Signal Return is a performable kontakt instrument and soundset designed to create a wide variety of interesting and textured sounds. All of the source material comes from recordings of various devices feeding back into themselves either electrically or acoustically. No software based speaker emulators or distortions were used in the creation of these sounds. Signal Return interfaceWe covered all of the classic forms of feedback including an SM58 through a PA, an electric guitar through a tube amped miked with an SM57 and a Royer 121, a set of Sony headphones feeding into themselves, and a pair of Uniden walkie talkies with both mics open too close to one another.We also did a series of line level loops with devices like a sansamp bass driver DI, a Danelectro Honeytone amp, and a Roland Cube amp. The line level loops were also run through guitar pedals and pitch/delay plugins to further bend and distort the looped signals.
