“Chords from the fjords” deliver 200 pristine chords collected in the breathtaking Fells. Some as musical as Bragi, some as brutal as Thor and others as beautiful as Heimdall, but all useful in their own way. So, why make a collection of chords you ask? Why not just deliver a set of midi files and some presets for your plugin collection? Well, that would be useful too, but you can get that in many places. We wanted to make a solid collection with the gear we love, and process them the way we like, to give your productions a new set of flavors. Sometimes people forget how much fun it is to load up a raw file in a sampler and just tweak away, and we wanted to bring a collection to the market that would inspire to do just that. The chords are sorted after style, and labelled with the key of the chord for your convenience. They are even named to let you navigate easily. We never liked numbering systems, and we figured you didn’t either. Like all our packs , most of the sounds originates from new and old analog gear. We have made use of both polyphonic and monophonic, multitracked synths.

Being an 80s baby, I remember growing up seeing movies from the 70s and 80s.

A lot of them were Sci-Fi and Horror flicks. Aside from the movies usually being pretty bizarre, I was always attracted to the types of music and textures that were used. Even today, I’m usually attracted to the ‘soundtrack’ sections in vinyl shops, interested in finding those textures. From doing that over the course of many years, I’ve noticed a consistent use in a small handful of vintage keyboards/synths during that era. I’ve created a set of 20 COMPLETELY ORIGINAL compositions, all played and composed by me. I’m so thrilled to present this creative collection to the few hundred of you that will ultimately get your hands on it. I want you to treat these like samples lifted straight from 70s Sci-Fi/Horror Soundtrack records. The only difference is, all of the audio stems are included!

Analogue Workshop Volume 2: Dark Ambient

Dark Ambient is the second in the series of Analogue Workshop sample libraries from renowned sound designer Ian Boddy. Featuring 300 samples and over 500 Kontakt patches culled from his collection of vintage and analogue modular synths, these sounds dwell very much in the darker realms of ambience and electronic music. The patches run the full gamut from subsonic drones, evolving pads and haunting modulations to weird, surreal atmospheres. The one-shot section contains a range of crunchy, deep, weird short percussive sounds and FX that can be used to spice up any drum kit or add impact to key moments in your musical compositions. A new custom designed graphical interface has been scripted in Kontakt 4 to provide even more variation & programming opportunities in the way the sounds are presented. Kontakt 4 libraries are fully compatible in later versions of Kontakt. This is rounded out by a set of impulse responses for the convolution reverb taken directly from analogue modules such as spring reverbs & bucket-brigade delays to further enhance the overall sound character.
