    DIGITAL VISION. Drum MIDI inspired by alternative dance music. Inspired by a fraction of the electronic dance genre that virtually has no outer bounds as far as sound or style goes, this MIDI pack throws you in orbit around a MIDI matrix of grooves touching on anything from the basic to the polyrhythmic, the syncopated and the Euclidian. This MIDI pack covers upwards of 350 individually crafted drum MIDI files organized in 40 separate “songs,” each featuring two subfolders of groove variations as well as a third with a basic selection of fills. But, don’t let the simple confines of any individual song or folder constraint your ideas – this MIDI is meant to be experimented with. Assign different sounds to separate parts, or mix, match, layer and slice and dice between tempos and grooves to create your own otherworldly rhythmic foundations.

    This EZX for EZdrummer 3 and Superior Drummer 3 features a collection of unique kits from the mid-1900s era, each handpicked to create the best mix of earthy, organic, resonant and vivid sounds for anything from acoustic pop to edgy soul, R&B and any tight-sounding pocket-style beats. It was recorded by engineer/producer/mixer Christoffer Berg (Depeche Mode, The Knife, Fever Ray) and drummer Christopher Cantillo (Carly Rae Jepsen, Mayer Hawthorne, Dina Ögon) at the famed Svenska Grammofonstudion (SGS) in Gothenburg, Sweden. With its main live room boasting an impressive 10-meter ceiling height but still with a very contained ambience, it was the perfect choice for an EZX that set out to capture drums tight enough for any contemporary beats but still projecting enough air in the room to retain that natural timeless vintage timbre of the drums. The kits were recorded using the obligatory close mics as well as two different mid/side configurations – one featuring all-ribbon mics and one where only tube mics were used. To enhance the vintage flair and period-correct vibes of the kits themselves even more, prominently calf- and cowskin heads were used, giving you that uniquely thick, lush, warm, yet-ringy, old-school sound unlike that of any modern-day alternatives.

    The ultimate collection of drum sounds tailored for the acoustic songwriter needs a great selection of vintage-to-modern kits that can handle anything from subtle nuance to all-out power. This EZX has seven of them. It also needs a great studio. This one was captured in Nashville’s, or arguably the world’s, number one hotspot for the buzzing songwriting scene. It, of course, also needs the absolute best in terms of mics, outboard and gear. With two top-of-the-line 48-channel API consoles, Neve preamps and a mic selection that includes vintage Neumann U67s, AKG D30s and Coles, this EZX gets a resolute check in that box as well. Finally, and most importantly, it needs a producer at the helm. That someone, in this case, is Dave O’Donnell, multi-award-winning engineer/producer/mixer who’s worked back to back with the absolute top tier of artists for four decades and counting. Listen to his work with the likes of James Taylor, Sheryl Crow and John Mayer and you’ll understand why he’s widely considered one of the best in the business.

    15 individual instruments, all captured from the classic Mellotron keyboard heard on hits by anything from the Beatles to the Moody Blues and King Crimson. EZkeys Mellotoon is based on the Mellotron keyboard introduced in the early 1960s. This unique instrument was the first of its kind to include samples of real instruments, but as opposed to the modern-day digital sampler, the Mellotron pulled them off a magnetic tape loop that ran inside the keyboard. It came with various sounds for piano, strings, flutes, brass and is likely best described as the first-ever “band in a box”. Naturally, it was a revelation from the get-go. Early adopters included the Beatles, the Moody Blues and King Crimson, who all immortalized the unmistakable tone of the Mellotron in numerous hits. Today, this piece of instrument history is enjoying a massive resurgence in a wide range of genres. EZkeys Mellotoon captures the essence of this one-of-a-kind keyboard and comes with 15 individual instruments, carefully sampled directly from a model M400 Mellotron using a blend of direct and amped signals. On top of that, it includes a generous selection of custom effect and sound chain presets, giving you a completely new, creative outset to an already seemingly bottomless pool of awe-inspiring sounds.
